What is an condo? A condo is an apartment quite literally. The biggest difference between a condo and an apartment is that condos can be purchased. Condo's are owned by private owners and either lived in by the owner or sub-leased out to renters. In-condo maintenance is taken care of by the owner, exterior maintenance (the grounds, amenities, pool, etc.) are handled by the executor of the commercial property the condo is a community of. Who are condo's for? Condos in Houston, like condos, can be for just about anyone. Although many people dislike living in apartment style homes, some do enjoy them. They can be used as "timeshares", as sub-leased condos, as your long-term home. Whatever you desire. Mostly however, condos are purchased by those who want to sub-lease them out as a means of profit or by those who do not want the hassle of owning a house with the property taxes that come with that.
